Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the initial candidates in the frame to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the squad's ten-game without a victory start to the top-flight season.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous associations to the club - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would pose a possible obstacle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton manager - who played more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a strong candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves board as they begin the search of hiring a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise contender, even though he would be a surprising choice considering he was released by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham United player is currently unemployed which means Wolves would not need to provide any buyout fee.
